Fasciatherapy at Sammā — a listening touch for the fascial network

Fasciatherapy

A gentle manual therapy working with the fascial network through a slow, precise, deeply listening touch — helping the body release tension and recover its inner coherence.

Fasciatherapy is a gentle manual therapy focused on the fascial network — the continuous connective tissue system that surrounds and links muscles, organs, bones, vessels, and nerves. Fascia plays an essential role in posture, mobility, circulation, body perception, and the regulation of tension throughout the body.

At Sammā, fasciatherapy is practiced through a slow, precise, and deeply listening touch. The practitioner works with the subtle movements of the tissue to release restrictions, ease chronic tension, and support better communication between the fascia, the nervous system, and the whole body.

This approach is especially suited to long-standing pain, postural imbalances, stress-related tension, and somatic expressions of emotional or nervous system overload. The work is gentle, never forceful, allowing the body to gradually recover mobility, fluidity, and a greater sense of internal coherence.

How a session unfolds.

First session 60 minutes; follow-up sessions 45 minutes.

  1. 01

    Listening & Reading the Body

Each session begins with a conversation about your history, sensations and reasons for consulting. The practitioner then reads the body's tensions through observation and gentle palpation — locating the fascial restrictions that maintain the current pattern.

  2. 02

    Manual Work

Lying clothed on the table, you receive a slow, listening touch. The practitioner follows the micro-movements of the tissue, accompanying the release of fascial restrictions without forcing. The work is gentle and adjusted to your sensitivity throughout.

  3. 03

    Integration

A quiet time allows the body to integrate the work. Many people experience a profound shift toward the parasympathetic mode, a sense of inner spaciousness or a softening of long-held tensions.

  4. 04

    Sharing & Guidance

At the end of the session, you exchange about your sensations. The practitioner may suggest simple body practices, posture awareness or self-care to prolong the benefits between sessions.

Questions we often hear.

The work is gentle and the touch slow. Most people describe the experience as deeply relaxing, sometimes with a sense of release as long-held tensions soften. Any discomfort is communicated and the pressure is always adjusted to your sensitivity.

A recent tension may release in 3 to 5 sessions. A deeper or older pattern often asks for 8 to 12 sessions, spaced according to need. The practitioner reassesses the work at each visit, adjusting to your pace.

Fasciatherapy practised by a recognised therapist is covered by most Swiss complementary insurances. We invite you to check your contract with your insurer. Sammā issues invoices that meet Swiss complementary-billing standards.

The initial session lasts 60 minutes, allowing time for a full reading of the body and a longer manual work. Follow-up sessions last 45 minutes. We recommend leaving a calm moment afterwards so the body can integrate the work.
